NEW ORLEANS Mark Shaw of Oklahoma City University was named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Central regional men's runner of the year as voted on by the coaches of the division. Shaw, a sophomore from Middlesbrough, England, captured the first NAIA men's cross country individual crown in OCU history by finishing with a time of 24 minutes and nine seconds in the 8,000-meter race on Saturday.
